I've been with car city for years and years. I always knew I was overpaying by thousands but I have crap credit so I dealt with it. They treated me so great. Got in an accident with a car purchased through car city. Our insurance covered five days with a rental. We needed a car immediately. This time car city treated me COMPLETELY different. We drove to car city's locations all over Michigan finally settling on a Dodge Dart.

First we noticed the front tire won't hold air. Then the blower for the heating and cooling system started smelling like burning plastic before it quickly died. Within 5 hours of taking possession of the car we found-'the window not working properly, blower dies, 'tire won't hold air and then the check engine light comes on. Have sensor checked at local parts store and are told it's an issue with the steering column.

Bring the car back to car city where an employee talks to me like I'm a complete idiot. Instead of helping me he directs me to call a warranty manager who is located in the building we are standing in. After discussion they agree to give us a loaner car while the dodge goes to be repaired but only if we do all the transportation at our own cost of gas and time.

The guy repairing the vehicle completely blows me off when I tell him about the code we got on the engine light. We wait forever with zero communication from anyone on the status of the car. I finally leave a bitchy voicemail and get a return call after them "repairing" the car. Yet again we are required to do all the running around to pick up the car and drop off the loaner.

Tire is flat when we arrive to pick it up. We drop off loaner car and think this nonsense is over. Nope. Two hours later my partner goes to bring our kid THREE blocks away and within minutes the check engine light is on. Turns out they said nothing was wrong and literally just shut the light off and fixed nothing. They put lube on our window and replaced the blower. Ignored the engine light.

Meanwhile through no fault of car city we are in the middle of a massive family crisis and we keep expressing to car city that we need help because of what we have going on. I feel like all they care about is money. Talking down to us because we are women? Now we again have a car that is not safe to drive that they are charging us $400 a month for.

A 2015 Dodge Dart for almost 12,000? I dont feel safe bringing it back to a mechanic who thought just turning the engine light off was enough. I put my kids in the car and I dont feel safe even having them in this car. Tire won't hold air and they want me to drive it all over town for them to get it half assed fixed? Sensor says it's an issue with the steering column and you encourage your customer to drive it knowing they have a family so you aren't financially inconvenienced? I'm disgusted, disappointed and horrified that anyone can do that.

If I could give less than one start I would this place is a piece of shit. They sell you broken ass cars, for 3 times the price of its actual worth. The precision claims is trash as well. Specifically one of there employees named Hannah who told me over the phone that my car would be completely fixed for free. And then the mechanic called me and tells me that they lied.

So i call up and ask to speak with the manager Matt and and he proceeds to tell me he doesn't understand why she would give me miss information. And I asked for a discount. And he explains my warranty coverage and I'm like OK so the fact that your employee told me the wrong information isn't doesn't mean anything to you. Trash ass company DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYBODY!

They get you hooked up through Orbit Leasing. Worst company EVER! If I could give zero stars, I would have. They're a bunch of crooks! I was leasing a van through them in 2009 and I kept telling them the transmission felt like it was slipping. They kept telling me it was fine. Probably just tweaking it to get it good enough to make it past the warranty.

I was later making a drive from Michigan to Reno, NV to visit my best friend and low and behold, at the highest point of elevation during the drive, in the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT! Orbits Leasing refused to help me in any way therefore leaving me no choice but to leave my only form of transportation and surrender it. I had to Greyhound and Amtrak back home.

Fast forward 3 years and they started garnishing my wages. I was able to call and set up a set amount for them to take instead of garnishing 25% of my disposable income. However, I got laid off. Now.6 years later, after working at my current job for 2.5 years I get another garnishment letter today. I called and asked if I could just make set payments like before and they told me no.

I then looked on my credit report and it shows I have a 0 balance and says it was a "charge off" so basically they're trying to double dip. I've given the garnishment to my lawyer and they will be hearing from him soon.

This is place is the last place you want lease a car from! Yes lease you can not buy a car here even if you have cash. Be warned if you default on a car lease here they will sue you and make you pay what they think its worth forget blue book value. here is a true incident I leased a 2007 hhr with 80k miles its Bluebook value less than 2000 because of condition it had a rebuilt title something they didn't tell me and had multiple issues.

I turned it in they took me to court and sued me saying I owed 6200 and they told court they sold it at action to them selves for 1200 dollars leaving a balance of 5000 dollars. they will screw you!

I hate my car that is a year old a Chevy Cruze. It's always in the shop and the warranty they offer is useless unless it's a major repair. Things keep going wrong Bluetooth only work for phone calls not music. All the aux and usb post don't work. And the back seat don't have any leg room which I didn't realize when I bought the car. If I could I would bring the car back I hate it.

Everyone there was fantastic! I was approved very quickly, and Rhonda helped me get into the perfect vehicle for me. So glad I went to Car City after looking at all the other garbage lots and ones that want $1,000 or more down.

I took my nephew to get a car. He wants to start building credit. They pre-approved him for a loan, so we drove from Holland for a scheduled appointment. Car City ran his credit app and told him he needed $2000 down for a used car. This shocked my conscious. My nephew has zero negative marks on his credit report. I could understand the steep down payment if he had negative marks on his report.

Well now, he has a hard inquiry.thus, instead of helping him build his credit, Car City helped him achieve his first negative mark and he isn't even a customer. My conclusion is that Car City is among those businesses that exploit the poor and less fortunate. That's my 2 cents.

Love my new car, however already had several problems with it. Always hard to get appointments for service. Sales people Very helpful with the whole process, easy to get approved even for bad credit.i

Car City sells used cars. at outrageous prices. Ex: I blindly bought a 1999 Ford Contour with worn paint, a bad head gasket, destroyed catalytic converters, and at least one electrical fault for $6000. Their only advantage is that they can extend financing through their Orbit Leasing arm to low-income and bad-credit customers. See my review of Orbit Leasing for my opinion on that. Suffice to say, AVOID.
