There's bad news and good news here, and fortunately, the good news won out. I bought a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer with 122K miles at a good price from Diamond Motors a few months ago. The sales rep, KC, was knowledgeable, personable and did a nice job with the transaction. The bad news is that, only 75 miles later, the engine blew while I was driving on the freeway.

Not having purchased a warranty from Diamond, but remembering the many "as is" and "sales final" documents I signed, I was not optimistic that Diamond would do anything to make this right. Nonetheless, I contacted the owner of Diamond Motors, Armen Sadakian, who expressed sincere regret over the matter and asked me to give him a day or so to get back to me with a plan for resolving the issue.

As promised, Armen called me back the next day and told me that he knew a mechanic who could replace the engine with a used rebuilt engine at a very reasonable price. I won't get into the financial details of our resolution of the issue--so as not to place Armen at risk of having to deal with others trying to compare apples to oranges in a different situation--except to say that Armen and I reached a fair arrangement with which I was very satisfied and which caused me to respect Armen as a business person with scruples who knows the importance of good customer relations. Diamond is a small dealership that seems to handle specialized requests for their customers.

They don't have a huge inventory of cars. But if you find something they are selling that you might like to test drive, I encourage you to check them out. The car will be what it is, but the dealer will treat you fairly with professionalism and respect.
