My girlfriend took her 2018 Subaru Forester to Exeter Subaru for an oil change. Two nights ago I replaced the left front axle and did an oil change. The oil cap required two hands to remove, and almost needed a wrench on it. The oil filter could not be removed by hand and needed a oil filter wrench which is not totally uncommon. But the one thing that bothered me was the oil drain plug was so tight I couldn't get it Loose with a 3/8 ratchet.

I had to use a longer half inch ratchet to get enough leverage to break the drain bolt free. And when it finally did Break Free it came out hard the whole way. Luckily it did not remove the threads with it. It was clearly over torqued to an excessive degree. Needless to say she's been told she will not be taking her car back to Exeter Subaru for any more maintenance.

And the next time I do an oil change I will have a new replacement drain plug ready to go now that I'm not comfortable with the one I had to put back in the car for now. hopefully the threads in the pan weren't damaged.

We had a great experience with buying our new Subaru. Ann was very personable and knowledgeable. We didn't feel pushed into anything. Everything was timely and we are very happy with our purchase. #subarufamily

We had the best experience with Exeter Subaru. Chris was wonderful. She took all the time we needed and we test drove 3 different models. No pressure. She was very knowledgeable and gave us sometime to make sure we got the right vehicle for us. We recommend highly, if you are considering a Subaru visit Exeter Subaru.

I like this dealership. They were very professional, extremely nice. I did not feel like just another person on a long waiting list for a car. I feel like they went above and beyond to get me in the car i wanted and the price i wanted to be at. No games or messing around. I was extremely happy with the sales person I had. She was awesome. Very nice, very genuine.

I felt like I was talking to a friend not a cold careless car sales person. She explained everything to me and offered to go over anything again anytime, just call or come by. Super easy to deal with, no waiting around for hours. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a great place to deal with. When you go there make sure you go see Chris. She is honest and great do deal with.

Had a great experience working with DJ and Mitch on our Crosstrek lease. They literally went the extra mile, picking me up from the train station. Will definitely return when we need our next Subaru.

Terrible buying experience at Exeter Subaru and would highly suggest you look elsewhere if you're looking to purchase a new car. While I found the games they tried to play somewhat comical, they did waste a significant amount of my time. This is clearly a dealership that's is trying to take advantage of the current semiconductor/inventory shortages by price gouging consumers.

I was looking for a new outback and they continued to switch pricing around on me as if I wouldn't notice. Car price goes down, they lowball on the trade in. Trade value gets increased, they bump up the price of the car. With each step in the negotiation process, they left me sitting alone for close to 30 minutes each time as they "ran the numbers".

All these actions directly conflict with the Subaru brand and I'm glad Subaru's CEO recently put out a press release blasting dealerships like Exeter for trying to sell cars way above MSRP due to "market conditions". That really doesn't fit in with the Subaru love promise, does it? These are not smart games to play when other dealerships are paying top dollar for trade ins and aren't playing games with the purchase price of new vehicles.

Happy to report I drove straight down to Prime Subaru in Manchester after being appalled by my treatment at Exeter. Loving my new outback onyx XT I got from prime and you can bet that I won't be getting any service done for it here. Don't let them take advantage of you, shop around!

I bought my new Subaru at Exeter Subaru in Stratham, NH. The people there were friendly, helpful, and made the entire process smooth and easy for me. I had to special order my vehicle and my salesperson, Chris called me each week to keep me apprised of the progress. Overall, I highly recommend Exeter Subaru for sales or service!

This was like no other car dealership experience! Ann specifically was my sales representative and she was amazing, knowledgeable of the vehicles, and super easy to work with. Everyone was professional and answered all of my questions. They are also available for follow-up questions, no crazy wait times or waiting for calls back. This experience was great! Highly recommend

I decided to get a Subaru one day went down and spoke with Ann. Once we had ordered it she asked me to sign a document stating I couldn't cancel order I paused, she told me obviously if something health related comes up we'd give you your money back. So I signed. I was scheduled for spinal fusion the Schedule they have me on now keeps pushing me into March now.

Obviously concerned about this purchase I called got no answer they called me back. The sales manager ofcourse apologizes to me then raises his voice at me actually starts yelling at me on the phone. Needless to say he didn't wanna return my money when I asked many other dealers they said they legally can't keep my money. Thier practices with public pr is disgusting. Just morally and ethically stomach turning.

Very great service! The 2 lovely ladies who helps me stayed very late to help me purchase the car I was looking to buy, and it wasn't even a Subaru! Very caring and helpful staff! I will be sure to send other people over in the future, as I am very sure they will be happy with the kind and helpful staff!

Had a clutch and steering rack installed by supposed professionals. Got my car back and put it on the lift to find out that they used three and a half tubes of heavy duty exhaust putty on a brand new downpipe with freshly machine heads. They loaded it right over the gaskets to the point where I have a quarter inch difference on one side to the other.found exhaust studs bolts loose and all mismatched.

Literally the most despicable display of workmanship I've ever seen. I called and spoke with the owner and he had nothing to say besides the technician was " Subaru certified" and I could bring it back to them if I wanted to. Unfortunately I don't trust them at all now. I've contacted corporate and they've referred me to a dealership that will document the shortcomings and figure out a game plan.

I should have checked Exeter Subarus Yelp because they have well over 50 negative reviews (some not recommended by Yelp). Do yourself a favor and do not have your vehicle worked on here ever!

If I could go any lower I would. Price increase, contingent on if you are financing with them. They gave NO WARNING, did not come up once. Would not honor the previous verbal agreement, and when a second manager came in, he became verbally aggressive. They lied consistently about events that had just occurred. Liars, cheats, don't trust them and don't bother wasting your time

Shopping for used Outbacks with my daughter for the past few days. I was passing through Stratham when she called me to say she likes an online profile of one at Exeter Subaru. I stopped in and spoke with Erica who immediately pulled the car up and brought it out for a test drive. Car was immaculate for its age and the price was more competitive than any other Subaru dealership I recently frequented. Darren approved my offer and the deal was done within an hour of walking through the door. Seem less no pressure transaction!

Really disappointed in Subaru. My husband and I took the car for an oil change and level 1 maintenance review at 7:30am. The clerk told us that we needed new brakes and rotors and some other things will be needed in the near future. We told the clerk we had to leave to go to work as it had already been an hour. Before confirming we qualified for a loaner, the clerk instructed the mechanic to begin work on our brakes.

It turned out we didn't qualify for a loaner. Instead of letting us leave because the service we came for was done, we we waited another half hour for the mechanic to undo whatever he had started on our brakes that we had not consented to. When he finally brought the car around, it had not been cleaned, and he looked stunned to see us out there in the freezing cold waiting for it. Worse still, the clerk seemed annoyed that we didn't want the repairs done, and he didn't give us a level 1 inspection report.

He made a shorthand list in the notes section of a few items -- he didn't even list everything he had told us verbally! The last time I had the *free* multi-point inspection at Subaru I was given a detailed and colorful 3-page report of the status of everything major in the car. We feel really silly paying for this "level 1 service" that doesn't even include a report, or maybe it does and we just weren't given one?

After all of this, we were late to work and really frustrated. The worst of it all is that we then took the car to a local mechanic who not only offered a much better price but fixed something we've mentioned to this Subaru dealer before and they ignored. When I told Subaru in the past that the car has been excessively loud, they found nothing wrong during inspection and told me that Subarus are just loud cars.

The local mechanic knew right away the wheel bearing needed to be repaired - and he knew he could save me money doing it while working on the brakes as he'd have access to that part of the car anyway. He fixed the brakes for far cheaper than Subaru quoted us, and the car has never been this quiet! We will not be returning to this Subaru dealer.

Negative stars needs to be created for the Exeter Subaru service staff. After multiple terrible experiences will never be returning even though Exeter Subaru is far closer to me than others. Waiting 5 minutes for service associates to finish a personal conversation? Ok, not the worst thing in the world. Being told my brakes are at 2 mm when it was confirmed they are in fact at 4 and 5 mm, unacceptable. Go to McGovern or TriCity. We tried to give Exeter Subaru a chance multiple times, but this place is absolute garbage.

A friend bought a lemon here several years back. I was helping her purchase a replacement vehicle this week, and I stopped here to see if they would offer her a discount on her next car, to make up for selling her a dud. As I walked in, three managers entered a glass room to have a meeting, leaving one sales associate to handle customers. After I explained to that one remaining associate my situation, and asked for advice moving forward, he went to the meeting room to consult the powers that be.

Keep in mind that I, the customer, am watching this conversation play out, since.glass room. He comes back and says, (cutting through the BS) we can't help you, move along. I ask to speak to the manager, before giving up - they did, after all, sell her a car with faulty metal, leading to a cracked engine block. He said, "They are in an important meeting, and can't be bothered." I responded, "To be clear, you are telling me that those three people, who I am currently watching just shooting the shit RIGHT THERE, can't be bothered to get off their asses and help a customer to whom they sold a broken car?" Reply, "Yeah, they're busy.

You can come back later". This place honestly lives up to its reputation as the worst dealership in the region. May they all live miserable lives. Contrast this behavior and attitude with my recent experience at Rowe Westbrook. "Lets get your car in for a free inspection before your warranty runs out, so we can replace whatever parts we can while you're covered." Yeah, Exeter Subaru should not be in business. We bought a new 2021 at the next dealership we visited, and the crappy service at Exeter Subaru made that next experience all the sweeter.

There was a recall on my Subaru 2019 Outback for the fuel pump. I brought my car to the Exeter Subaru dealership near my home. They replaced the fuel pump. When I return home I noticed my rear back camera was beeping, and the lower left screen was red. There was nothing there. I tried wiping the camera but this did not help. The next morning I went to fill up my tank (as I was told to have the tank only less than 1/4 to 1/3 full for the work) I noticed the tank did not "fill" completely.

I did not think much of it at that time. My rear view camera continued to "beep" and show red as if something was there and my gas gauge continued to only go to full. I called the Subaru dealer and explained how both problems happened right after the service was performed on my car. The person was very dismissive about the rearview camera issue being related to the service.

I was asked to return my car to have it looked at. They never mention a cost up front. I was called and was told the fuel gauge was fixed but in order to look at the rear view camera it would cast $135 and once they determined to reason for the rear view camera failure they would then determine who needed to pay for it. The Exeter Subaru dealership stated the failure of the rearview camera was caused by the "Sensor being nocked loose when my trailer hitch was installed." This trailer hitch was installed in April of 2019.

I am amazed that the rear view sensor on the exact date I brought it in for service, decided to malfunction. But had not malfunction in the previous 15 months while it was loose. With these odds I feel I should go to Las Vegas or play the lottery. To add further insult to my intelligence the service man assured me he took "lots of photographs" so I could take those photos to the mechanic who installed the trailer hitch 15 months ago and show him the mistake he made 15 months ago but that error just present itself now. Really?

I am sure this is a very small example of the service practice on a daily basis at the Exeter Subaru dealership. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from the Exeter Subaru dealership and I will be taking my Subaru to my previous mechanic who is honest and reliable. By the way the "fixing" the sensor required re-taping the sensor.at $135.hmmmm.

Bad experience today. Instead of doing a proper walk around for a new car delivery a finance manager slapped our plates on the car and lead us to the car parked randomly with all other cars. After I complained about the lack of a proper walk around and new car delivery the sales manager instead of apologizing and fixing the mistake started coming up with a million excuses why they couldn't do a walk around.

The last straw was that as I was driving away from the dealership I noticed that the gas tank was only quarter full instead of full as is customary. No one ever bothered to return our phone call about that either. I'll definitely contact Subaru about this bad experience. Mind you we were a repeat business too. I'll never go back there again not even for maintenance.

I had a seamless oil change and state inspection experience today. This was the first time I've been to the dealership since COVID and I was glad they had a process in place. They called for payment over the phone, sanitized my vehicle and offered contact-free pickup. Great service experience, thank you Exeter Subaru!

I am updating this review because I gave them three stars before and I don't know how it got to be four. Bottom line - I did buy a vehicle at a good price using my own financing but the deal was delayed because I was told at the last minute that the price was contingent upon using their financing. I bought the vehicle after the manager ok'd the original deal and I used my own financing.

Prices for used cars are well above market value and they don't seem seriously interested in making fair deals. Tried to buy cars there twice and didn't feel for one second they were ever willing to offer a market value price.

Five weeks after I bought a used 2013 Outback at Exeter Subaru, the transmission completely blew. Because the sale was an "As-is", there was no warranty coverage. Supposedly their mechanics had gone over it thoroughly and said everything was in good shape, but I'm finding that very hard to believe. My mechanic recommended that I reach out to them, and when I did, I got nothing except for them offering to look at it if I paid to tow it down there, but at this point, I don't even trust them to look at it.

I can't say how disappointed I am to be looking at a repair bill that is more than half of what I paid for the car. I'm a very even-keeled person, but I'm stunned by this, and find it hard to believe that they weren't aware of something. If this were something smaller, it wouldn't be a big deal, but it is a big deal. I was a fool to believe them. Stay away from these guys.

I bought my new 2017 Impreza in November of 2017. Condensed version of events follows: Before I even drove it off the lot, I noticed the windshield was cracked. Getting that fixed was a saga that involved at least 2 trips to the dealership, one which was unnecessary since they didn't even have the correct windshield yet didn't mention this until I'd had the loaner for 2 days. Bizarre.

Then the persistent rattling in my car. Each time I brought it in for the repair or oil change, I mentioned it. In May, the service tech fixed some of the rattling by pulling out the dash and adding extra foam. However, when I brought it for another oil change in November, I was told that the problem was the blower motor and they didn't have one to replace it with at the time but they'd call me. OK, fine.

One week, two weeks, no call. I finally call them and they say it hasn't come in yet. Seriously? And you don't bother telling your customer? Finally, I make the appointment to have it replaced. When I get there, I mention the rattling yet again. To their credit, they had a tech take a ride with me and we were unable to duplicate it. But when we came back inside, the guy working at the counter essentially dismissed me and seemed to forget the whole reason I'd come in there in the first place!

I made an appointment to bring the car in for a cold start. Somehow that never made it onto the books there, which was actually ok because the weather was warmish. But really? So I rescheduled. This time, they were finally able to replicate the rattling and pulled out the dash (again) and added more foam. Great! I get my car back and as I'm halfway to work, I realize that the seat heaters are not working now.

After a series of car swapping, my fiance is able to take it in and get that fixed. Honestly, I am just waiting for the next fiasco with this car and dealership. If I knew then what I know now, I would never have stepped foot in this dealership.

I went in for an oil change and was told that I needed a $2300 repair for a small oil leak. I was also told that my 2013 Outback looked "pretty good" but had a few dents. I took my car to a local repair shop that my family has trusted for years and they found no leak at all. I am extremely disappointed in Exeter Subaru. I'm also surprised that I posted this nearly a month ago and no one at Exeter Subaru has reached out.

So disappointed in how this all ended. If the transaction has ended the way I was told it would, I would have taken my deposit back and maybe even recommended them and returned. It didn't. I gave Jon my cc number to process the $1000 refund on 12/14. 9 days later still nothing. Wrote to the GM and asked him for the transaction # etc, he said he would look into it the next day. 24 hours went by and no reply so I filed a dispute with amex. Still waiting for that to be cleared up and it's January 14.

I was in the market for an awd sedan so I thought im gonna try a subaru. Exeter subaru had a car that I wanted. I was communicating via email w danielle and after we agreed on a price, I came to the dealership. My sales guy was Nick and Max was the finance guy. The whole thing took less than an hour, they did try to offered me some extra warranty but when I decline there was no PRESSURE!

I know there are some bad review in here about this particular dealership. All I can say is im very satisfied with the whole experience and would recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle there. Now let's see if this subaru live up to its name. We'll see
