Question: What is $370 and a lot of hassle and lost time? Answer: MD State Inspection at Thomas Subaru Service. Brought my new-to-me Forester in for a $125 inspection on 5/2. At checkout, I was told it needed brakes and tires to pass for MD vehicle registration. I asked for a re-check appointment and was told they were busy the next few weeks, and to call back. Got brakes and tires elsewhere with 10 days to spare. Made a confirmed follow-up appointment on their website for the next day.

Then got a call that they could not do any appointments booked online and were scheduling into June. I said that I had to get the re-inspection by 5/30, right? They said yes, and then scheduled me for the next available on 6/6. Considering their limited availability, I understood any fee would be covered under the first inspection. Not so. Got there, was charged another $125 for a second inspection, then told it now also needed window tint removed for another $120. Huh?

If they had told me that the first time, I would have done it before bringing it back. Seeing the bill at checkout I shared the first paragraph above with the service rep. He took my concern to the manager who said, "There's nothing we can do about it." I paid the bill as ransom for my keys and escape. Leaving with my wallet lighter, my neck sore from being yanked around, and with a resolution to never return.

I generally don't post reviews, but this is my only recourse. To warn you. By the way - all the folks at the service desk were terrific. They were friendly and did what they could to help. I can understand a mishap here and there, but this series of unfortunate events indicates operational deficiencies not addressed by management. If you go there - good luck.

This was my second purchase from Thomas. I was very pleased the first time so I returned. That was a mistake! The sales team is great until after you make the purchase. I purchased my 2020 used Santa Fe on 2/21/22, on 4/8/2022 I had to call to find out what was going on with the tags and registration as I had not heard from them, and the temps were going to expire on 4/22/2022.

I spoke to the Johna, who said she had my paperwork on her desk and if I could give her about an hour or two she would email me a copy of the updated registration. I never heard anything from them. She did note she was in the middle of something else, and it was a Friday afternoon, so I thought nothing of it. Also, please note that she did confirm my email.

On Monday morning I emailed sales, and Zach responds letting me know that he would check on it for me. I had to email again asking for an update, and Zach lets me know that when he went to check she was already working on it. Monday evening comes, NOTHING! I'm not sure what the problem is but their customer service after the sell is horrible. I have been telling everyone about the problem I'm having and the lack of basic communication from Thomas! I'm certain that this is the last vehicle purchase I make from Thomas!

Hands down the best car buying experience ever! Jamie Kline was amazing! He was so helpful, knowledgeable, and took his time to explain the whole process. He made sure I understood the options in the car and the controls which was beyond anything I expected. Jeremy McFarland completed my financing for me and was so wonderful! He explained my options and made the financing easier and less stressful than I had anticipated.

I highly recommend Jamie and Jeremy and Thomas Hyundai/Subaru! I absolutely love my new to me car and am beyond impressed at the pleasant experience I had with both Jamie and Jeremy. Thomas Hyundai/ Subaru just got a new customer for life just because of those two.

I have dealt with some wonderful people at Thomas. I love my car still till this day, but it's like my dearly beloved grandma who keeps breaking bones. This vehicle never stops breaking and when I take it to the Thomas service team they promise the issue has been resolved and then the issue comes back. My front rotors and calipers have been fully replaced twice in 3 years now at a total expense of $2000 to me. No warranty and no apologies. Buy a car from them, they are great people, but please take care of it and take it to another mechanic and service team.

The service department is fantastic! My car broke down while I was traveling and I need to get it looked at ASAP. While, they were overloaded they worked it out to look at my car and even did the necessary repairs that day! I am incredible grateful and happy with the service received. I have had positive service experiences here in the past as well.

Great place to get a ride. Very nice lot. Very nice facility. Kara took amazing care of us. Got us exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend these guys and gals. Top notch service.

My husband and I had the best experience we have ever had buying a car. Everyone was friendly and there was no high intensity sales. They checked and reviewed the best financing and interest for our needs and kept us in our budget. We will definitely return to Thomas for all of our car buying needs.
