I have bought 5 brand new vehicles in the last 7 years, and I must say that O'Bryant Giles and Thompson Toyota have made me one happy customer. My best car buying experience to date. Great vehicle price, great trade in value, and most importantly no haggling. I was promised a great deal, and received one. Thank you Thompson Toyota.

The deal was very good. Dwayne helped me get a new car and was very professional and upfront. He was very fast and efficient to get things going. The deal on the car was great. The service provided was very good. I'm truly pleased with my experience at Thompson Toyota.

OB "The Big Guy" took care of my auto purchasing needs. I completed my vehicle purchase via phone and email. Once I arrived in Baltimore via bus from Virginia, OB picked me up and took me to the dealership. He introduced me to all the staff and I was in and out with my new vehicle in about an hour. AMAZING experience! Would recommend OB and Thompson Toyota to anyone on the east coast interested in a new Toyota or used vehicle.

Another excellent experience at Thompson Toyota! The entire team made me feel very welcome. I had been looking for a 4Runner TRD ORP for a couple of months and O'Bryant made my search a priority. In and out quickly with no surprises.

Gordy was so amazing to work with. He kept me up to date throughout the entire process, and seemed just as excited as I was about my new Corolla Nightshade. Would absolutely recommend Gordy! Adam was also so kind when we were doing the last bit of the finance paperwork. A pleasure to work with as well!

Third time purchasing a car from here! Obryant Giles Tom McGeachy and Matt Filling were great and helpful. They made sure I had the features I wanted while staying within my budget. I love my new car.

Stanley was very helpful and informative when we were choosing a vehicle. Because of the limited quantities of Toyota, he explained that there would be a wait (up to a month) before I could receive my car. After discussing it with a manager, he managed to get me into a new car the following week. I was ecstatic! Their financing office also managed to work some magic and lower those numbers to a more reasonable level. My parents bought their car from Thompson, as did my brother and I'm glad I did too.

Since moving here, Thompson has been the ONLY place to touch my car until I got it back in October after an oil change and it has two dents on the frame towards the backseat. The manager Tony tried to tell me it looks like someone hit it and I pointed out the same creased dent is on the other side in the same exact spot. He asked me why I didn't say anything back in October and the honest truth is something has always gone wrong when I get my car back.

They had to replace my back window after messing up my defroster taking off my tint to pass inspection and I was hesitant to even bring it back after that. He dismissed it and said there was nothing he could do because their cameras don't go back that far and I'm just done giving this place chances. I'm not one to typically complain and I do trust dealers for the most part to service my car, but not anymore. I'm done and I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent experience at Thompson Toyota. Gordy was great! He worked with me to find the vehicle I wanted. Transparent on vehicle costs with no surprises, fees, or markups. Thompson got me good financing, and had the car ready when I showed up. I would recommend Thompson Toyota to anyone who wants to buy a car. It is worth the trip.

Stanley was an amazing salesperson. He gave us an amazing sales experience. We went in with an idea That we wanted a Camry. Once my daughter drove it I wasn't the right fit. Instead he told us of a car he knew we would love that would serve every purpose we needed. It was the brand new vehicle Crossover Corolla Cross. Beautiful Interior of a Corolla with the size of a RAV 4.

It was perfect for my daughters first car. We were very happy with it. Stanley was warm, open not one bit pushy. He was a perfect gentleman. If I am in the market again looking for a new car. We will go to Stanley. The business guys were fantastic too.

If you want to wait an eternity for your car to be serviced, come here. They told me to replace my front splash guard, it would take 5 min. Still sitting here for over 30 min.

13 thousand is the new 11 thousand! Used car sales. A vehicle listed on the website at $11k and change. I drove about 40 minutes to look at the vehicle. I am then told that it would cost about $4000 dollars for the vehicle to pass inspection, but they would be willing to meet me half way. John the salesman seemed nice enough; Buddy the used sales manager was not. I had bought a new vehicle from them several years ago and was pleased with that experience, and the service dept. Today's experience negates that good experience.

Service is awful. If Chuck wasn't a salesman there, I would not buy a car from here. I have received my car back with trash and oil splatters on it, waited two hours for an oil change (twice), one hour for a tire rotation, two hours to get a tire plugged, and got a scratch on the steering wheel of my brand new $60k car.

I've come to the conclusion that Thompson Toyota is not in the business of being honest with their customers. Went in for my routine maintenance and was told mid way through the process that my battery needed to be replaced. News flash: No it did not. I have owned my car for over 4 years and haven't needed to touch my battery once. It's been fine and continues to be till this day. Be very careful here. They will lie and rip you off when given the opportunity.

Brought my car in for inspection and oil change. They tried up-sell me a transmission oil flush at 60000 miles even though there is no mention of this requirement in the maintenance service manual. My car came back after inspection and on their report there was a whole column of safety check items unchecked (supposed to be part of the service) and a recommendation that I needed to have my air filter and cabin filter changed (those items were checked as needing replacement).

I asked the service representative at the counter if the technician checked the filters and he said yes. Which was interesting to me as I just changed these filters myself the week before ( real easy to do, no tools required!). The service representative manager did speak to me and apologized about the misinformation and assured me he verified with the technician that everything was checked as required.

The representative said the technician always check the filter items on the form as needed without inspection for cars that haven't been in for the 60000 mile service. This is still wrong, as the forms purpose is to tell you the results of the safety inspection. Of course, the service managers verbal technician confirmation was his word. There is no way for me to verify what the service manager told me.

Reading other reviews on this and other websites it seems other people have had quality and integrity problems with Thompson, so I have good reason not to take Thompson word at face value. Granted, they have a really nice waiting room, free fresh cookies, WiFi, coffee, and free car wash and vacuum. This is really nice, but Thompson knows they will recoup these costs as your car ages and you need more than oil change, as their parts and labor costs are very high. Eventually, you will be enjoying the amenities while waiting for a "free" inspection and your service advisor comes out with the bad news about your car needing repairs to pass inspection or scares you into some unnecessary expensive preventative maintenance.

If your inspection fails, your faced with a choice to pay the exorbitant dealer charges to pass the inspection, or get the repairs done with another mechanic and the return to the dealer for a re-inspection. I suspect most people will just pay the exorbitant fees to avoid this hassle. My car is getting older, and I fear getting overcharged and required to perform unnecessary service the first time my car "fails" inspection. Fearing all those free amenities I mentioned will eventually cost 1000x what they are worth when I'm required to repair an item to "pass" an inspection, I will start taking my car to my trusted local mechanic.

I have bought two cars there - got a fair deal, but I did do my homework before starting the negotiation process and was prepared to walk if I didn't get the price I wanted. (Do your research on the internet, there are lot of good guides out there on how to negotiate car prices and what options not to buy.) It's a business, and they know all the behavioral hooks to get you to spend more money.

For example, before you buy the car they say how great and trouble free their brand is. Then you buy the car and tell you how you need to buy the extended warranty (bad deal!) because repairs are so expensive - and site some case histories of multi-thousand dollar repairs. (This happened to me both times I bought cars at Thompson.). Extended warranties are high profit items for dealers. (My last 3 cars are all Toyota's and they are very reliable cars, by the way.

But this has nothing to do with dealer!) When it comes to maintenance, I expect my mechanic to follow through on all of the required maintenance and safety inspections. My previous experience there makes me doubt their integrity and follow-thru.

Took my truck there to have body work done. When I went to pick it up the repaired work color did not match the rest of the truck. When I brought it to the attention of the body shop manager (JP) he said it was due to fade on the truck. The truck is a 2007 but just had a new paint job two years earlier. He said it is what it is - we complained to the right hand man to the owner and he said he would see what he could do.

They got back to me and told me there was nothing they would do because the insurance would not pay for it. I called my attorney who then contacted them and they told him to speak to their lawyers. Never take your vehicle there for work the employees are rude and talk to you like you are an idiot. Worst place I have ever been to.

I have worked with Kurtis at Thompson Toyota and found him to be more than helpful as well as honest. My car had to be kept most of the day and he arranged a ride to take me home. Then explained the ride would not be available after 5pm. So since I needed my car they brought me back by 5pm. Where I was willing to wait for the work to be finished. One visit I was unable to pay for all the work recommended. He went and spoke with the mechanic to see what could wait and how long. Both he and the mechanic are honest men. The driver was kind also.

I would recommend that everyone turn away immediately and do not spend your money there. Not only did they just take 3,000 to fix what they told me was my transmission. It clearly was not. They refuse to service me on my problems, steal parts off your vehicles, and as a women talked to me like dirt. I wish I had never walked into the door. Had my truck in and out of shop for 7 weeks.

Truck is now trash because of them and I have to sell it because its broke and they will not fix it even tho it's under warranty. Lawyer is involved, waiting for more info. Just DO NOT GO THERE!

I was recently in for a service appointment for my driver side seat belt buckle which was malfunctioning. For the first time I left very unhappy. From the beginning with the service person that greeted me who was not friendly and was a bit gruff. Which was very unusual because they're all usually great to work with. To waiting about an hour and being told they could not repair the little spring and would have to order a new buckle and replace it to the tune of $424.

That seemed out of line. Again, my service person was slightly abrupt and I left looking for someone else to do the service. It will be the first service I have not had completed there since I purchased my first car from Thompson in 2001.

I 100% disagree with the negative ratings. After some pretty horrendous experiences with other service places in the area: -- They are by far the cheapest for my oil changes, even before any coupons. -- Their inspection fee was all-inclusive for like $129 or $159 (I forget which), and they allowed me to apply that to the actual repair. Another Toyota dealership charged me $150 PER HOUR for six hours, and then told me they couldn't figure out what the problem was without refunding my money.

This place figured it out within two hours. -- They have never, ever tried to up-sell me. -- Their repairs are the cheapest in the area, even compared to independent places. -- They gave me a ride home for free during my repair. -- Free snacks and drinks in the waiting area! This is my favorite Toyota dealership by far. I would highly recommend the honest, kind and talented people who work here!

I go there for service. Or, I used to. Typical dealer up-sell. Went in for regular interval maintenance, expecting to spend $100 to $200. By the time I was done, it was $900. I don't doubt there are hidden repair needs not obvious to the driver, but I'm fed up with apathetic service managers who drop a couple grand worth of needed (?) repairs on you, and then stand there blinking while you sweat bullets trying to figure out how many meals to skip next week to make the repairs semi-affordable. Enough.

I started with $1600 worth of work, cut out almost half of it (couldn't afford) and got down to about $900. They told me they'd provide a free rental, but I had to remind them to do so. Fwiw, quality of repairs is fair. Not terrible. Not great. Just fair. Unless you live 5 minutes away, find another shop.

Took my Corolla in for an airbag replacement. Found out they could not replace it because: 1. They didn't know what kind of airbag was installed 2. The airbag they thought I needed was so far back ordered, they do not anticipate being able to replace it any time soon. WTF Toyota, don't send me 5 recall notices because you don't supply your dealerships with a supply of replacement parts. Will not buy a Toyota in the future or be back to this location

This was probably the best experience we have had buying a car. Jason Honkofsky was our sales rep.and he was very pleasant to deal with. He knew everything about the 4Runner we bought. The sales manager was also very cool and gave us a fair price on our Mini Cooper trade in. They were quick and helped us navigate through the buying process very professionaly.

No pressure and were knowledgeable about all details of the car. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the experience. Congrats guys, great job. It was worth every bit of our 2 hour drive from Northern Virginia. Highly recommended.

We purchased our Toyota through Thompson as I had a re problem with the other guys. The service department addressed the issues in a timely manner. And yes, the hard sales lady is not there. When I am ready to trade in I will let them know. But intend to drive our vehicles for ever and that is why we went with Toyota. It is a long drive for us for service and when we move to Colorado it will further.

It's a car dealer, they try and sell you on things you don't need, they try and buy your car back when you don't want to sell it, etc. However, for a car dealer, I've never had a bad experience with their staff, they always act friendly. The waiting room is nice, and there is a kid's area. There are complementary snacks and water, and they appear to have stopped paying the woman to ambush you in the waiting area to try and buy back your vehicle. I'll probably continue to come here for service for the life of my vehicle.
