I purchased my vehicle a few months ago. I was in the need of a new vehicle and a relative recommended me this dealer as she purchased a Honda Civic and the vehicle has been reliable and overall a good car. Keeping this in mind, I went in search of a new vehicle and found a limited stock (1 Honda Civic) on the lot at the time of my purchase. It was late in the day (arrived after work around 6pm) in search of my new Honda Civic.

The sales man provided good service for the most part! At the time that we sat to discuss the options, my experience was very different compared to Toyota in Salinas. The sales man did not give me a quote of the car, all he did was write in a piece of paper the term of the loan and the monthly payment. Never did he tell me the price of the car. We sat in a table for about an hour before he came to tell me "if I cut you a deal on the Honda Civic we have on the lot, will you take it." I was amazed that after a hour of him "searching" he would only come to give me this option.

Since I liked the car and thought I was going to get a deal I said "sure, let's talk about it". We then went to the finance manager office (around 9pm). The finance manager was persuasive to say the least. They wrote up a quote in a 2022 Honda Civic of a monthly payment of $599 for a 80-month term! WTH this is crazy, I asked why such a high payment and long term?

He said to me with all the warranties and your credit (good credit) and a 3.99 finance charge is the best deal (according to them). I was amazed how non-transparent the process of buying my new 2022 Honda Civic, I would not recommend this dealer or the service they provide to their customers. Finally as I was signing the purchase contract the mileage listed on the contract was 6 miles but the car obviously had been test driven and had 76 miles, MAYBE the dealer gets an INCENTIVE in deceiving on contracts!

Since it was late that day, I had to come back in two different occasions to get the tank of gas filled. Then second time to get it "detailed" this was the most outrageous part of it all! I called a Friday and the Service Manager told me come back Saturday at 9:30am, I was there punctually. The "detail" took 3.5 hours to be done after me going to their desk to check on it for 2x.

I would not recommend buying your car late in the day and second the service they provide. I love my car but not the WHOLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! The sales man gave me a survey to complete and said it would help if I gave him 5, then what do I do? I give him a 5 rating on paper, he was obviously standing next to me while doing this. I know, I should have been more thoughtful and waited to complete this "survey" where I completely lied.

Since then I have refinanced my car to a 2.19 APR and lessen the term from 80 to 48 months. Something the finance manager said I would not find a better rate! YEA RIGHT! Next time I will definitely NOT consider this place to purchase OR even recommend it. Hope this helps some one who is considering Val Strough Honda!

I had to take my daughters car in for her and Steven the service manager was amazing. Not only did he help me with our car but he also gave me a rental to use until our car is finished due to parts not in yet. Steven and his team members went to great lengths to make sure our car could be fixed as he had me bring the car in ASAP and even had someone drop me off back at home. I understand they have a business too run but they completely overwhelmed my sister and I when attempting to buy her first car. We even told them we wanted to leave and they wouldn't even let us get up to leave. They were way to pushy and lied just to make a sale! The sales person stated "cause of the war on the other side of the world the prices will go up thousands of dollars" come on really! That's a horrible sales tactic.

I'm done with Val Strough Service Dept. I don' t want to be.but it looks like I have no choice. Tried calling for two days, on a Monday and Tuesday (not holidays). It would ring and ring and then go to a voice mail system "please leave your name and number and we will call you back". Umm.no. Then I tried scheduling online. It requested when you'd like to schedule the service.

So I put it in the date and time I prefered. It showed "how would you like us to contact you for verification", blah, blah. So I typed in my email. Two days later. NO RESPONSE. Nothing. Nada. So I tried calling again. Went to voice mail. Then I tried to to email them and it bounced back. The ONLY thing I can think is Did they go out of business? Anyways. I went to Salinas and it looks like that is where I'll be going in the future.

Review for Service Department only. I went in to get information on a part that was broken, appeared to be a blend door actuator arm. Explained the effects and showed the part. The only thing they could do was show me a schematic picture and tell me I needed a diagnostic visit. The would not tell me a part number or answer any other questions regarding what the different parts on the schematic were. Incredibly unhelpful and just pushing for their own diagnostic.

Found the car we wanted online and sent in all of our info for a credit application. Received a quote on the car with monthly payments and trade in. Scheduled to drive the car and told the sales person that we wanted to purchase the car with the quote we received. The payment he gave us was over double the quote and the trade in value was under half.

They also tried to add on 7500-10000 of extras and refused to sale us a car without the add ons. They said that honda would not allow them to include those in the quote but that all dealerships are doing the add ons to make up for the economic issues related to shortages. This place is trying to scam people. Very disappointed as we were ready to purchase.

I went to Honda to get a small repair done that my mechanic thought it was safer to have them fixed. When I picked up my car they gave me a whole list of things that were wrong with my car with my car. One of them was the CV boots. I know about the CV boots and I thought it odd that my mechanic hadn't told me about them so I took my car to my mechanic and they found nothing wrong with any of the things that Honda had told me was wrong. It so they just lied in an attempt to get money and fix something that wasn't broken. If you go there beware

Very poor communication between sales team and manger, Ash. With good credit and a significant amount down, Ash provided an exorbitant monthly and wanted even more money down to get down to a reasonable monthly payment. He went so far as to state that he "has the best deals in the area", which is completely untrue according to the deal he was trying to scam us with.

He priced accessories as almost $10,000 more on a basic model. Completely unprofessional and would not do business here as the sales team does not make any of the final sales, you must work with Ash, who does not work with you and wants you to give an arm and a leg with barely anything in return.

This dealership truly is the best in the area. I moved to Marina from NY and had to sell my car before moving. I called dealerships in the area before arriving to try and get ahead of getting a new car. June and Ash stood out as customer service professionals, going above and beyond every step of the way. I didn't commit to anything for a few weeks because I was shopping around and they were honest, patient and very attentive to helping me meet my needs.

I went to the Honda in Salinas, and although they promised the world, it was easy to see through their sales technique. Salinas seemed to be in it for themselves and Val Strough was truly in it to make sure I was happy, every step of the way. Highly recommend going here.

Great service. Quick to fix. Straight answers and fair prices. Beat out Costco in both time and savings when it came to a new tire needed from an unfortunate nail on the shoulder. Got me in and done in about an hour with no appointment needed.

Last time I brought my Honda Odyssey They told me there was something wrong with the Alignment and balancing on my car that was causing a lot of vibrations with driving a high speed. I didn't give the permission to do the job the same day so I did an appointment for a different day! When they finished the jod that day They told me that the car was perfect alignment and they just did a little something different than the jod they described at the beginning.

I still got charged for something they didn't do and guess what? My car still shaking at high speed and they don't have a fucking idea was it's causing the problems. I won't come back to this place I wil go to Sam Linder Honda for sure!

I wanted to sell back my Honda I bought from Val Strough a year ago. I love my car but my needs changed. Sales Manager Ashnil Prasad was rude and rather arrogant yesterday. Very flippant and condescending to me. Hondas are great cars but I would NEVER use this dealership for anything. I went to Goldstar in Salinas where the guys were polite, professional and offered considerably more than the offer by Ashnil Prasad.

Bought a brand new CRV from this dealership in 2012. The car has always had issues and made a grinding sound while turning the ignition. Honda had the car back in 2017 for about a month and gave me a loaner car, they also comped a lot of new parts due to the car always being serviced by them and bought brand new. It is now 2021 and the car is making the same grinding sounds and they want to take out the entire engine to see what's wrong since they have a history of issues.

I believe this car was a lemon from the beginning, they are now telling me they won't have a loaner car available even though I've been trying to talk with them for a month. When you leave messages no one calls back. It's absolutely disgusting customer service and i regret ever buying from this dealership.

Bought my civic here. Never going back to this place cause they're good at b.s. and nothing else. I had to argue for them to "only" charge me $140 instead of $320 to fix a door lock that should have been covered in my bumper to bumper warranty, six months after I bought the car. Also the parts department told me a stuff i ordered would be here on Wednesday or Thursday, it's now Tuesday still no word, this place is a joke!

I am so happy with the service June from Seaside ValStrough Honda gave me. He greeted me with a big smile and was clearly ready to help me. He found what it was that brought me in, gathered the information from my vehicle, then motioned me over to have a discussion of my needs. He showed active listening that did not feel rehearsed or from a training, instead he was here to support people and their needs.

When he had gotten to hear from me and felt clear on what I was wanting AND needing. Remembering that wants and needs are different. He set off. And boy did he listen! He returned with an offer to look at a car he had in mind for me. When I say in mind- I mean that previous conversation I mentioned where he listened to my WANTS in a vehicle while respecting my NEEDS financially!

His find was the car I had dreamed of for a while (I did not tell him what my heart/dream was not wanting to get my hopes up)! After good communication on the financial need my answer was a resounding yes! This was an A + experience and I encourage friends who may have visited before and not had the best experience try again! I am so excited for my new adventures!

My review and comments are only for the service department at this location, I have no experience with the sales side. I usually don't leave reviews after a bad experience but I want to inform others about the service I received. I took my Honda Civic in for a AC condenser problem. My car is covered under a 10 year extended warranty for this problem and they confirmed my car is covered. However, after I took my car in, they called me after a few hours and told me that they will not be able to repair it under warranty because a "foreign object" caused the damage to break the condenser.

The entire explanation sounded like bs, especially since they said that they wouldn't even be able to replace and repair at all, and I would need to take it to the body shop since there is damage under the car that needs to be fixed (i.e. pipes, lines, other bs). I had the service advisor show me exactly where the damage was and he point to something under the car that we couldn't see, but I left regardless as it was clear they weren't willing to fix it.

To test the shadyness I felt from the unclear explanation I got from this location, I scheduled the same appointment at another Honda service dealer to fix my AC condenser under warranty. The other Honda service advisor says the AC condenser is leaking and this is the only problem they found, no damage in any other form like Val Strough told me. My car was fixed at the other dealer with a replaced AC condenser and I was covered 100% under warranty.

So this is just some advice that if this place seems like they are overcharging or unwilling to do a service for you under warranty, they probably are based on my experience. I understand AC condensers aren't cheap to replace and take a good amount of labor, but you need to be honest with your customers and clearly they were not honest to me.

I would have easily given 5 stars since I brought my car in for warranty covered service on the seatbelt and the service advisor was very helpful and understood I only wanted what was covered by the warranty done. However, when I got my car back the drivers headrest was laying in a bag in the back seat (not a big deal), but there was an additional piece of plastic molding which came off somewhere and was never put back on by the tech who serviced my car.

I have no idea where it goes, I looked around and didn't see anything that looked similar. Also, in the inspection checklist my engine oil was marked as "requires immediate attention" but my oil is at a good level, is amber colored, was changed 2k miles ago, and my car doesn't leak, so?

I went there for general diagnostics and brakes replacement. The service was great, job and price estimation were reasonable as well. Customer service actually deserves 10 stars out of 5. I got helped by Ryan, who is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend Val Strough for your Honda service.

Found out I was missing a lug nut. I came into the dealership ready to just give them my wallet for whatever they wanted to charge me because nothing says "cant not have" like those little things holding your wheels to the car. I was even ready to buy an entire set, however many that included even though I needed just one. The parts department manager came out and said he didnt have a set in stock but he managed to find one laying around that fit my car and just gave it to me. Thank you very much!
